An overall feeling of being part of a "team" was paramount.
An overall feeling of being part of a "team" was paramount.
Our long-time client, B&G Foods, approached us for help establishing their corporate core values and bring them to life inside their offices. Core values are the deeply ingrained principles that guide all of a company’s actions; they serve as its cultural cornerstones. Values can set a company apart from the competition by clarifying its identity and serving as a rallying point for employees. After many brainstorming sessions and discussions, “Trust – Serve – Grow” was developed. TRUST - Delivering results every day. SERVE - Leading with humility. GROW - Growing our people & brands. This became the mission statement and value initiative that they wanted everyone to see, feel, and adhere to. To start, we developed these concepts into visuals that they would see every day in the form colorful wall graphics that reinforced the values. Understanding the worth of using core values wasn’t enough, however. To truly benefit from them, effective practices must be set in place. YellowDog proposed a set of practices that would keep the team engaged, like employee recognition and rewards, company “culture decks”, and focusing on core values when recruiting.
